{"id":7554,"date":"2022-10-10T11:59:18","date_gmt":"2022-10-10T11:59:18","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/signdesk.com\/in\/?p=7554"},"modified":"2025-09-17T07:34:09","modified_gmt":"2025-09-17T13:04:09","slug":"meity-amends-it-act-2000-extends-purview-of-e-signatures","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/melento.ai\/en-in\/blog\/meity-amends-it-act-2000-extends-purview-of-e-signatures","title":{"rendered":"These Five Documents Can Now Be E-Signed | MeiTY IT Act Amendment"},"content":{"rendered":"<h2><span style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 24px; font-family: 'open sans'; color: #008000;\"><b>MeiTY Amends IT Act (2000), Extends Purview of E-Signatures<\/b><\/span><\/h2>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-7559\" src=\"https:\/\/melento.ai\/en-in\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2022\/10\/These-Five-Documents-Can-Now-Be-E-Signed-_-MeiTY-IT-Act-Amendment-01.jpg\" alt=\"These Five Documents Can Now Be E-Signed _ MeiTY IT Act Amendment\" width=\"770\" height=\"360\" \/><\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 17px; font-family: 'open sans';\">According to a notification released by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeiTY), the First Schedule of the IT Act (2000) has been amended.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 17px; font-family: 'open sans';\">The <strong><span style=\"color: #333333;\"><a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/egazette.nic.in\/WriteReadData\/2022\/239378.pdf\">notification<\/a>,<\/span><\/strong> dated 26th September 2022, removes select entries from the scheduled list of documents for which E-Signatures cannot be utilized.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 17px; font-family: 'open sans';\">The following documents can now be E-Signed using <span style=\"color: #333333;\"><strong><a style=\"color: #333333;\" href=\"https:\/\/melento.ai\/en-in\/esign-workflow\">electronic and digital signatures<\/a>.\u00a0<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><span style=\"text-align: justify; font-size: 17px; font-family: 'open sans'; color: #333333;\"><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">A cheque, a Demand Promissory Note, or a Bill of Exchange<\/span> issued in favor of or endorsed by an entity regulated by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), National Housing Bank (NHB), Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI), Insurance Regulatory and Development Authority of India (IRDAI) and Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA) as defined in section 13 of the Negotiable Instrument Act, 1881.
